Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree in the relevant specialization or branch from a recognized university or institute. Applicants should have first class or equivalent grade in the preceding degree and a consistently good academic record throughout their education.

Experience:

Assistant Professor Grade II -

  • Less than 3 years of post-PhD teaching / research / industrial experience.

Assistant Professor Grade I -

  • At least 3 years of post-PhD teaching / research / industrial experience.

Age Limit:

  • Maximum Age: 36 years.
  • Age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, PwD, and women candidates as per Government rules.

IIT Madras Assistant Professor Pay Scale 2026

The salary is based on the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

Assistant Professor Grade-II:

  • Pay Level 10
  • Basic Pay: Rs.70,900 per month

Assistant Professor Grade-I:

  • Pay Level 12
  • Basic Pay: Rs.1,01,500 per month

With allowances such as DA, HRA, and transport allowance, the total monthly salary may reach about Rs.1.5 lakh to Rs.2.29 lakh depending on the post.

The Department of Women & Child Development, Puducherry has released a notification for the recruitment of 618 posts of Anganwadi Workers (344 posts) and Anganwadi  Helpers  (274 posts) under the Samshak Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 project.
