Atal Bhujal Yojana (Atal Jal) 2026

Atal Bhujal Yojana (Atal Bhujal Yojana - Atal Jal) is a project of the Bharatiya Janata Party, launched on 25 December 2019, on the 95th birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It is an initiative to ensure sustainable groundwater control (groundwater management) in rural areas through people's participation. The main objective of this Rs 6,000 crore project is to increase groundwater and reduce its use in water-stressed states of the country.

Atal Bhujal Yojana 2026 States Covered

Atal Bhujal Yojana is being implemented in seven water-scarce states of India where groundwater levels are rapidly depleting. These states include Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The scheme is primarily targeted at districts and blocks in these states where groundwater levels are facing severe depletion. Through community participation, water budgeting and conservation activities, the programme aims to improve groundwater management and ensure sustainable water use in rural areas of these selected states.

Target Areas of Atal Jal Yojana 2026

Atal Bhujal Yojana primarily targets rural areas facing acute groundwater depletion. The scheme focuses on water-logged blocks, districts and villages where groundwater levels are declining due to overuse for agricultural and domestic purposes. It covers about 193 blocks in 78 districts and about 8,350 gram panchayats in selected states. The programme works directly with local communities, farmers and rural institutions to promote groundwater conservation, water budgeting and efficient water use so that groundwater resources can be managed sustainably for the future.

Under this scheme, eligible unemployed residents age 21 to 40 will receive a monthly allowance of Rs. 1,500 until they find employment or for a maximum period of five years, with the programme expected to roll out from 15 August 2026. The objective of this scheme is to alleviate the economic hardship faced by young job seekers while they search for employment.

DRDO ISSA Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification Out for 21 Vacancies

DRDO ISSA Apprentice Recruitment 2026; Institute for Systems Studies and Analyses (ISSA), Delhi, under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has invited applications for engagement of Apprentices for one year training under the Apprentices Act. The recruitment includes 21 vacancies for Graduate Apprentices (Computer Science & Engineering and Mathematics) and Technician Apprentices (Diploma in Computer Science).
