Vacancy for Bombay High Court District Judge 2026

The Bombay High Court has issued a notification for a total of 89 vacancies for the post of District Judge (through nomination - 25%) in the Maharashtra Judicial Service.

Eligibility Criteria for Bombay High Court Recruitment

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must be Indian citizens holding a law degree. They must have at least 7 years of experience as an advocate in the Bombay High Court or subordinate courts, or as a Public Prosecutor/Government Pleader, or as a judicial officer in the Maharashtra Judicial Service. Experience gained as a law clerk (after provisional enrollment) will also be considered. Applicants must have working knowledge of the Marathi language.

Age Limit:

  • The age limit is 35 to 45 years for general candidates and up to 48 years for candidates belonging to backward classes and/or PwD, as on the date of advertisement.

Pay Scale for Bombay High Court District Judge 2026

  • Selected candidates will be appointed as District Judges in the pay scale of Rs. 1,44,840 - 1,94,660, along with Dearness Allowance and other allowances as admissible under the Maharashtra Judicial Service Rules.
