West Bengal 100 Days Work Scheme: After a long Break, the 100-Day Work scheme is finally set to resume for the residents of West Bengal. Scheduled to begin on July 1, 2026, the scheme aims to generate employment opportunities for rural households. Under the new arrangement, the target has been set to provide 125 days of employment annually, replacing the previous 100-day limit. The Central Government has approved a budget of 153 lakh person days of labor for West Bengal for June 2026. The core objectives of the scheme remain improving the living standards of rural families, reducing unemployment, and developing essential community assets like roads, ponds, canals, and water conservation structures. Eligible households can apply for work using their Job Cards.

WB 100 Days Work Eligibility Criteria
Applicants Must Have:
Be a resident of a rural area in West Bengal.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Belong to a household willing to do unskilled manual work.
WB 100 Days Work Scheme New Rules
Workers must ensure that their Aadhaar number is linked with their Job Card and bank account to receive wage payments directly through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
Authorities are conducting stricter verification of Job Cards and worker details to remove fake or duplicate beneficiaries and improve transparency.
Wages are paid directly into the worker's bank or post office account to reduce delays and prevent misuse of funds.
Job Card holders must formally demand work from their Gram Panchayat. Employment is provided based on the demand submitted by eligible workers.
From July 2026, the new Viksit Bharat-G RAM G programme is expected to increase the employment guarantee from 100 days to 125 days per year for eligible rural households. Existing Job Cards will remain valid.

For a New Job Card -
- Visit your Gram Panchayat office.
- Fill out the Job Card application form.
- Submit the required documents.
- Verification will be conducted by the authorities.
- After approval, the Job Card will be issued.
To Request Work -
- Submit a written or verbal application to the Gram Panchayat.
- Mention the number of days of work required.
- Receive a dated receipt of the application.
- Work should be provided within the prescribed period as per scheme guidelines.
