Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship is a scholarship scheme under the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. Its objective is to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from economically disadvantaged minority communities for pursuing professional and technical courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This scheme supports students belonging to the Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi communities who have secured at least 50% marks in their previous examinations and whose annual family income does not exceed Rs.2.5 lakh. Selected students receive a maintenance allowance and reimbursement of course fees, enabling them to pursue higher education in fields such as engineering, medicine, management, law, and other professional disciplines. This scholarship is administered through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Amount

Course Fee:

The applicable amount will be the lower of either Rs.20,000 per year or the actual course fee.

For certain listed premier educational institutions, the full course fee may be reimbursed in According to with the scheme's guidelines.

Maintenance Allowance:

• Hosteller: Rs.10,000/- per year
• Day Scholar: Rs.5,000/- per year

For the National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for minorities, the total annual income of the family from all sources must not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh.
