Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana 2026: Benefits, Eligibility & FAQs

The Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana (DAY) is one of the Government of India's flagship poverty alleviation schemes, launched in 2014 with the objective of improving the livelihoods of the poor in both rural and urban areas. This scheme prioritizes skill development, self-employment, and income generation by organizing beneficiaries into various groups such as Self-Help Groups (SHGs) facilitating access to bank credit, and arranging necessary training for employment and small-scale enterprises. Aimed at making the poor population self-reliant, financially independent, and socially empowered, the scheme is implemented through two components: the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) for rural areas and the National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM) for urban areas.
