CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (CSIR NML), Jamshedpur has released for the recruitment notification of 22 Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) posts in Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted category. CSIR NML MTS Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details

CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (CSIR NML) has published a total of 22 vacancies for the post of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS). The category-wise breakup of vacancies is UR - 07, EWS - 04, OBC (NCL) - 03, and ST - 08. 

CSIR NML Multi Tasking Staff Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification: 

Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) -

  • 10th / Matriculation or equivalent pass as per DoPT norms. 

Electrician: ITI pass in Electrician Trade.
Carpenter: ITI pass in Carpenter Trade.
Fitter: ITI pass in Fitter Trade.
Plumber: ITI pass in Plumber Trade.
AC & Refrigeration Mechanic: ITI pass in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Trade.
Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA): ITI pass in COPA Trade.

CSIR NML MTS Recruitment Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-1 of the 7th Pay Commission with a basic pay of Rs. 18,000 to 56,900 per month. The approximate total monthly emoluments are around ₹36,000, including Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance, as applicable in a ‘Y’ class city .

NML MTS Recruitment Application Fee

The application fee is Rs. 500 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates. SC, ST, PwBD, Women candidates, CSIR employees, and eligible Ex-Servicemen are fully exempted from paying the application fee. The fee must be paid online through SBI Collect.

CSIR NML MTS Recruitment 2026 How to Apply

Eligible candidates must apply online only through the official CSIR-NML website (nml.res.in). The online application link will be active from 05 January 2026 (11:00 AM) to 06 February 2026 (5:00 PM). Candidates must upload scanned copies of photograph, signature, educational certificates, caste/category certificates, and fee receipt. Applications submitted through any other mode will be rejected .

CSIR NML Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection will be based only on a Computer Based Objective Written Examination. The exam will be of Class 10 level, consisting of 150 questions for 450 marks. Subjects include General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and English Language. Each correct answer carries 3 marks, and 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. The final merit list will be prepared purely on written exam performance .
