The Shadi Bhagya Yojana was a welfare initiative launched by the Government of Karnataka in 2013, aimed at providing financial assistance to economically vulnerable women from minority communities at the time of their marriage. Under this scheme, eligible brides received a one-time grant of Rs.50,000 to alleviate the financial burden associated with wedding expenses. It was primarily designed to target families living below the poverty line and also extended its coverage to widows and divorcees who were remarrying. The objective of this scheme was to strengthen social security and support underprivileged sections of society.

Shadi Bhagya Yojana 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The bride must be 18 years of age or older.
The groom must be 21 years of age or older.

Shadi Bhagya Yojana 2026 Application Process

Eligible applicants were required to either appear in person at the local Minority Welfare Office or apply online through the Government of Karnataka's portal. Applicants had to fill out an application form providing detailed information regarding the bride and groom, and submit an accompanying affidavit along with necessary documents such as Aadhaar cards, income certificates, proof of age, and BPL (Below Poverty Line) ration cards. Upon submission of the application, the concerned officials would verify the provided information; subsequently, once proof of the marriage having taken place was submitted, the approved financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 would be transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account. However, this process is no longer in effect, as the scheme has been discontinued since 2020.

WCD Puducherry 618 Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Recruitment 2025

The Department of Women & Child Development, Puducherry has released a notification for the recruitment of 618 posts of Anganwadi Workers (344 posts) and Anganwadi  Helpers  (274 posts) under the Samshak Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 project.
