WBSETCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification Out for 138 Vacancies

West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL), a Government of West Bengal enterprise, has released an official notification for the engagement of 138 Apprentices for the year 2026-27 under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The recruitment is open for Graduate Apprentices (Electrical), Technician Apprentices (Diploma in Electrical), and Technician Apprentices (ITI Electrician/ Wireman) to provide one year of practical training at various WBSETCL substations and offices across West Bengal. Eligible candidates who passed their qualifying exams in 2023, 2024, or 2025 can apply through the NATS/NAPS portals from 06 February 2026 to 27 February 2026.

WBSETCL Apprentice Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

(1) Graduate Apprentice (Electrical)

• Candidates must have completed a 4-year full-time Graduation in Electrical Engineering from an AICTE-recognized institute.

(2) Technician Apprentice (Diploma in Electrical)

• Candidates must have completed a 3-year full-time Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology from any recognized institute/college approved by the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development.

(3) Technician Apprentice (ITI - Wireman/Electrician)

• Candidates must have passed Madhyamik (10th) or equivalent and must hold a 2-year ITI Trade Certificate (Electrician/Wireman) under NCVT from any ITI under the Directorate of Industrial Training, Government of West Bengal.

Age Limit:

• The minimum age required for all trades is 18 years as on 01 January 2026. 

For age verification, only the Date of Birth mentioned in the Birth Certificate issued by a competent authority or the Madhyamik (10th) Admit Card/Certificate or an equivalent examination certificate will be accepted.

West Bengal SETCL Apprentice Salary 2026

• Graduate Apprentice: Rs.10,500/- Per Month
• Diploma Apprentice: Rs.9,500/- Per Month
• ITI Apprentice: Rs.9,300/- Per Month

WBSETCL Apprentice 2026 Selection Process

The selection process will be conducted entirely on the basis of merit, without any written examination or interview. Candidates will be shortlisted based on the percentage of marks obtained in their qualifying examination (Degree/Diploma/ITI). After the initial scrutiny of online applications, the shortlisted candidates will be called to the WBSETCL Corporate Office for document verification, where they will have to present their original documents, including educational certificates, age proof, caste certificate (if applicable), Aadhaar card, and other necessary documents.
