Income Tax Mumbai Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

(1) Stenographer Grade-II

  • Candidate must have passed 12th Class (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.

(2) Tax Assistant (TA)

  • Candidate must have a Degree from a recognized University or Institution.

(3) Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)

  • Candidate must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or equivalent from a recognized Board.

Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 27 years

Age relaxation of 5 years (10 years for SC/ST) is applicable for meritorious sportspersons as per government rules.

  • Stenographer Grade-II (Steno) - Level 4 (Rs.25,500-81,100)
  • Tax Assistant (TA) - Level 4 (Rs.25,500-81,100)

Income Tax Mumbai 2026 Application Fee

  • All candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs. 200 through online mode only. The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Applications submitted without fee payment will be rejected.

Income Tax Mumbai Recruitment 2026 How to Apply

Eligible and interested candidates must apply online only through the official website www.incometaxmumbai.gov.in. Before applying, candidates should carefully read the notification and keep all required documents ready. Only one application form should be submitted, even if the candidate is applying for more than one post or more than one sport. While filling the application form, candidates must upload self-attested copies of their educational certificates, sports certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), Aadhaar card, photograph, and NOC (if already employed). After completing the form, candidates must pay the application fee and submit the application before the last date, 31 January 2026.
