India Optel Limited (IOL), an initiative under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has published a recruitment notification for 149 Project Technician posts on Fixed Term Contract (FTC) basis for their OLF Dehradun unit. These posts are available in trades like Fitter Instruments, Fitter Electronics, Machinist, Optical Worker, Electroplater and Painter. The appointment is purely temporary, initially for 1 year, extendable annually up to a maximum of 4 years based on performance and company requirements. Candidates are required to apply offline by post in the prescribed format.

India Optel Recruitment - Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification:

  • Candidates must have Matriculation (10th Pass) plus NTC/NAC issued by NCVT in the specific relevant trade. 
  • Engineering Degree/Diploma holders without NTC/NAC are not eligible.

For Ex-Servicemen: 

  • Technicians with upgrading qualifications of Class III equivalent to NAC.
    (With appropriate endorsement of equivalence of civic qualifications on their certificates).
    OR
  • Technicians with upgrading qualifications of Class II & Class I equivalent to NTC  (with appropriate endorsement of civil qualification equivalence in their certificates)

Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 32 years

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ ST: 5 years
  • OBC (NCL): 3 years
  • PwBD: UR 10 years, OBC 13 years, SC/ST 15 years
  • Ex-servicemen: Military Service + 3 years
  • Ex-Trade Apprentices of Ordnance Factories: Age relaxation equal to apprenticeship duration

IOL Project Technician Recruitment - How to Apply

Interested candidates must download the prescribed Application Format (Annexure-A) available on the DOO (C&S) website under the ‘Join Us’ tab. The form should be filled in BLOCK LETTERS only after carefully reading all terms and conditions.  The completed application form, along with all required documents, must be sent only by post to the following address:

Candidates must attach all necessary documents (self-attested copies) regarding their qualifications, experience, past employment, present employment, salary certificates, caste and class, etc.

India Optel Recruitment 2025 - Selection Process

Selection will be based on percentage of marks scored in the final NTC/NAC exam. Candidates will be shortlisted in a ratio of 1:1.25 for a Trade Test (Practical), which will be qualifying only. Final merit list will depend only on NTC/NAC marks.

Admit Card or Call Letter for Trade Test (Practical) will be sent to the shortlisted candidates only through email. While reporting for Trade Test, candidates will have to affix the same photograph as used in the application form in the admit card.
