A total of 04 vacancies have been published for the post of Staff and Welfare Inspector (S&WI) under 50% departmental promotion quota in East Coast Railway. Out of which 03 posts are for Unreserved (UR) category and 01 post is for ST category. One post is also reserved for PwBD candidates.

East Coast Railway Staff & Welfare Inspector Recruitment - Eligibility Criteria

Only regular Senior Clerks working in Pay Matrix Level-5 are eligible to apply for the Staff & Welfare Inspector post. The employee must belong to the combined ministerial cadre of GA, Medical, Personnel departments of ECoR Headquarters, or the Personnel department of WPO/CRW/MCS. The candidate must also have completed a minimum of 3 years of regular service as a Senior Clerk in Level-5 as on 27.11.2025.

ECR Railway Recruitment 2025 - Pay Scale

The selected candidates will receive Pay Matrix Level-6, which is equivalent to the old pay scale of Rs. 9300-34800 with Grade Pay Rs. 4200 (6th CPC).

East Coast Railway Recruitment Notification - Selection Process

The posts of Staff and Welfare Inspector in Pay Matrix Level-6 under the 50% DPQ quota will be filled through a selection process consisting of a Written Examination for 50 marks and assessment of Record of Service for 30 marks. The written exam will be a fully objective-type Computer-Based Test (CBT)/ Tablet Based Test (TBT) with questions available in both Hindi and English. It will include one Professional Paper of 100 marks based on the prescribed syllabus, with 10 marks on Official Language Policy (these questions are optional). Only the first 100 attempted questions will be evaluated. Both physical and biometric attendance will be recorded at the exam venue to ensure transparency.
