Border Security Force (BSF) under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has released a notification for the recruitment of Constable (General Duty) under Sports Quota - 2025. A total of 549 vacancies are available for meritorious sports persons (Male & Female) across various sports disciplines. This recruitment is conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India for Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial posts, which are initially temporary but likely to become permanent. The recruitment is open to 10th pass candidates. The online application process will be open from 27th December 2025 to 15th January 2026 through the official BSF recruitment website.

BSF Constable GD Sports Quota Recruitment 2025-26 Vacancy Details

The BSF Constable (GD) Sports Quota Recruitment 2025-26 has a total of 549 vacancies, out of which 277 posts are reserved for male candidates and 272 posts for female candidates. These vacancies are distributed across more than 30 different sports disciplines, including Athletics, Archery, Boxing, Football, Hockey, Kabaddi, Judo, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Shooting, Swimming, Volleyball, Yoga, and several others.

BSF Constable GD Sports Quota Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th pass) or equivalent from a recognized board.

Sports Qualification:

Candidates must be meritorious sportspersons who have:

Won medals / secured positions OR participated in 

  • International events or
  • National Games / Senior National / Junior National / Youth National Championships

Sports achievements must be between 15 January 2024 to 15 January 2026.
Events must be recognized by IOA / MoYAS / International Sports Federation.
In team events, the candidate must be a main playing member, not a reserve.

Age Limit (as on 01 August 2025):

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 23 years

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (NCL): 3 years

Border Security Force Recruitment Pay Scale 2025

Candidates selected for the BSF Constable (General Duty) under Sports Quota 2025 will be appointed under the 7th Central Pay Commission pay structure. The post carries a Pay Level-3 with a basic pay of Rs. 21,700 to 69,100 per month. In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) and other allowances as applicable to Central Government employees from time to time.
