SSC LDCE Recruitment 2025 for 326 Grade C Stenographer Vacancies

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Grade ‘C’ Stenographers Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) 2025 to fill 326 vacancies through promotion in various central government services such as CSSS, AFHQ, Railway Board Secretariat, ECI, IFS (Branch-B), and CVC. This recruitment is only for existing Stenographer Grade ‘D’ government employees who fulfill the required service conditions as of July 1, 2025. The application process will be conducted online from December 22, 2025, to January 11, 2026. Candidates must send a printed copy of the application through their department to SSC Northern Region by 27th January 2026 (or 03 February 2026 for candidates posted abroad/Islands).

SSC LDCE Grade C Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

(1) Central Secretariat Stenographers Service (CSSS) -

Who is eligible:

  • Regularly appointed Stenographer Grade ‘D’

Service Requirement:

  • 6 years approved service as Steno Grade ‘D’
  • If appointed through Competitive / LDCE exam:
  • Exam result declared at least 6 years before 01.07.2025
  • Must have 5 years approved & continuous service

Special Relaxation (DR Steno Gr ‘D’, SLY 2018)

As per DoPT order dated 29.07.2025, relaxation provided:

  • 1 year in approved service
  • 1 year 5 months in result-to-crucial-date gap
  • Up to 1 year 6 months in continuous service

Other Conditions:

  • Deputationists with lien in Grade ‘D’ - Eligible.
  • Computer literacy mandatory (shorthand transcription on computer).

(2) Indian Foreign Service (Branch ‘B’) Stenographers Service -

Service Requirement:

  • 6 years approved service.
  • Mandatory training as prescribed by Ministry of External Affairs.

Relaxation:

  • For officials holding Steno Grade ‘D’ before commencement of IFS (B) Rules, 2017:
  • Eligibility remains 5 years approved service.

(3) Armed Forces Headquarters Stenographers Service (AFHQSS) -

Service Requirement:

  • 3 years approved & continuous service in Grade ‘D’

If appointed through Competitive / LDCE exam

  • Exam result declared 3 years before crucial date.
  • 2 years approved & continuous service required.

Other Conditions:

  • Deputationists with lien in Grade ‘D’ - Eligible.

(4) Railway Board Secretariat Stenographers Service (RBSSS) -

Service Requirement:

  • 6 years approved service as Steno Grade ‘D’

If appointed through Competitive exam

  • Result declared 6 years before crucial date
  • 5 years approved & continuous service required

Old Rule Protection:

  • Officials holding Grade ‘D’ before commencement of new rules:
  • Only 3 years approved service required

Other Conditions:

  • Deputationists with lien - Eligible.
  • Computer literacy compulsory.

Service Requirement:

  • 3 years approved & continuous service in Grade ‘D’

If appointed through Competitive / LDCE exam

  • Exam result declared 3 years before crucial date
  • 2 years approved & continuous service required

Other Conditions:

  • Deputationists with lien - Eligible.

(6) Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) -

Service Requirement:

  • 5 years regular service as Stenographer Grade ‘D’
  • Service must be after appointment in CVC
  • Must be completed by 01.07.2025

SSC Grade C Stenographers (LDCE) Recruitment 2025 How to Apply

Eligible candidates must first complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the SSC website ssc.gov.in if not already registered. After logging in, candidates should fill out the online application form for the examination between 22 December 2025 and 11 January 2026 (up to 11:00 PM), upload the required documents, and submit the form online. Once submitted, candidates must print a copy of the completed application and forward it through their respective Head of Department/Office along with necessary service documents to the SSC Northern Region, New Delhi, so as to reach by 27 January 2026 (or 03 February 2026 for candidates posted abroad/Islands).

WCD Puducherry 618 Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Recruitment 2025

The Department of Women & Child Development, Puducherry has released a notification for the recruitment of 618 posts of Anganwadi Workers (344 posts) and Anganwadi  Helpers  (274 posts) under the Samshak Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 project. These positions are open only to female candidates who are Natives/Residents of the Union Territory of Puducherry and belong to the local community of the respective Anganwadi centre.
